Vāsudeva Dvādaśī

Vāsudeva Dvādaśī is an Āṣāḍha observance honoring Viṣṇu or Nārāyaṇa under the name Vāsudeva. Dvādaśī means the twelfth tithi in either half of the lunar month. It follows Devaśayanī Ekādaśī in the bright fortnight, but it has its own Dvādaśī rule.

A respectful still life of tulasī leaves, a brass lamp, and a white conch in a blue-and-gold setting.

Why it appears

Regular amānta Āṣāḍha Śukla Dvādaśī must prevail at local sunrise.

The report checks the twelfth bright-fortnight tithi at sūryodaya and then checks the named amānta lunar month. The current rule is provisional because fuller traditional precedence rules may select a nearby date.

Prayer, pūjā, fasting, or other participation belongs to each devotee’s tradition and circumstances. The calendar result identifies the date.
